The Tulane Maritime Law Journal would like to congratulate Laura Beck, a 3L Senior Member of the Journal, for her citation in McBride v. Estis Well Service, L.L.C., an en banc decision of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit that was released late last week. Judge Edith Clement favorably cites Laura’s Case Note, entitled Punitive Damages Stow Away in the Fifth Circuit: McBride v. Estis Well Service, L.L.C., in her concurring opinion.
The full decision can be found here, and the citation to Laura’s article is located on page 20. Laura’s impressive case note can be found at 38 Tul. Mar. L.J. 649 (2014).
This is not the first time Judge Clement has cited a TMLJ student written publication. Judge Clement also cited a Comment published in the Journal in 2011 (36 Tul. Mar. L.J. 313 (2011)).
This achievement is a testament to Tulane’s faculty, the Journal’s reputation, and, most of all, Laura’s hard work and abilities. Congratulations Laura!
